The Karingal Veterinary Hospital was established in 1980 initially operating out of a converted A V Jennings display home on Karingal Drive. In 1995 the hospital was purchased by Dr Scott Tinson, the current owner, with the objective of developing one of the premier veterinary hospitals in Australia. Realizing that the original facility could not grow and provide the necessary level of services and equipment for the future, vacant land was purchased from the City of Frankston, in 1997. Work started on the land in early 2000 and the new hospital opened its doors on 16th September 2000.

In 2002 the hospital became one of only 30 veterinary hospitals in Australia to be accredited as a “Hospital of Excellence” by the Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association. 2003 saw the hospital win the prestigious Australian Veterinary Association, “Hospital of Excellence in Customer Service” award and the Leader Newspaper Frankston Small Business Award. In conjunction to providing the people of Frankston with a world class veterinary facility the Karingal Veterinary Hospital also serves to provide final year veterinary students with valuable practical experience and learning.
