Testimonials from our Veterinary Nursing Team

Looking for the right practice environment to either start or continue your career as a Veterinary Nurse? Here is what our nurses have to say about their experiences working at KVH.

Brianna – Cert IV Veterinary Nurse (4 years in industry – 6mths at KVH)

“I am so incredibly lucky to be a part of the team at KVH. As this is a large, fast paced clinic, I am given the opportunity to be involved and care for a variety of interesting cases which allows me to challenge my skills on a daily basis. I feel constantly rewarded with receiving opportunities to grow and develop my skills and knowledge. I enjoy coming to work each day because I know as a team, we will support each other and provide a high standard of care to each of our patients.”

Maddie – Cert IV Veterinary Nurse (7 years in industry – 3 years at KVH)

“I worked in a small practice for 4 years before applying at Karingal Vet. I was nervous about working in a much larger hospital, unsure about how I would cope with the busier workload and pace – and wondering whether my knowledge would be enough. These fears were quickly pushed aside as the entire team welcomed me with open arms, encouraging and supporting me to further my knowledge and challenge myself on a daily basis. Something I still find rewarding and enjoyable 3 years on as no two days are the same. If you are worried about moving from a smaller clinic, don’t be. Plus, the people are awesome!”

Damaris – Veterinary Nurse (4 years in industry – 4 years at KVH)

“4 years ago, I made the switch from human nursing to my dream job in veterinary nursing, this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. KVH welcomed me with open arms. The team at KVH is next to none, everyone is unconditionally supportive and always happy to lend a helping hand. I am pleased to say that my growth as a veterinary nurse is all thanks to this wonderful team. My passion has quickly become surgical nursing, orthopaedics, pain management & chemotherapy. With our larger client base, you are quickly guaranteed exposure in most aspects of small animal veterinary medicine. I love that no 2 days at the hospital are the same, with a mixture of surgical and consulting nursing you will continue to learn and grow within our hospital. If you are keen on expanding your knowledge, experience and clinical skills, Karingal Vet is the place to be.”

Louise – Nursing Team Leader – Cert IV Veterinary Nurse (13 years in industry – 4 years at KVH)

“I have been working in the animal industry for approximately 13 years and feel lucky to have been employed with the team at Karingal Veterinary Hospital for the past 4 years. The ongoing supportive team culture has allowed me to maintain a healthy work/life balance as well as pursue further study. I love the mixture of surgery and consulting nursing, where I have been exposed to a busy caseload. This has allowed me to further develop my practical nursing skills. I have also been fortunate to have the opportunity to progress into a leadership role mentoring junior nursing staff.”

Sharni – Veterinary Nurse (19 years in industry – 12 years at KVH)

“I have been working at KVH for 12 years, the hospital is filled with an amazing passionate team. A high standard of care given to all patients. No day is ever the same and our days are fast paced and fun! We have great medical and surgical equipment resources at our fingertips and a varied and exciting case load. Support is offered and encouraged with further education and support that is tailored to your individual veterinary nursing journey. Karingal vets is a buzzing hospital environment coupled with a nurturing team that is sure to further any nurses career and experience level.”

Samone – Cert IV Veterinary Nurse (26 years in industry – 26 years at KVH)

“Most of my adult life has been spent working at Karingal Vet Hospital. I started when I was just 17 and new to nursing. I have had the opportunity to grow and develop my skills to become a qualified nurse. This then opened up many more opportunities and roles which have provided variety throughout my now 26 years here, including surgical nursing, kilo club coordinator, puppy school trainer, and consulting nurse, where I now enjoy training new staff in these roles. I have been apart of the KVH family for many years now and I have been fortunate now to be able to balance raising my own family with the enjoyment of coming to work.”
